Vision:
The elderly are able to live at home for as long as feasilble with pride, dignity and independence.
Volunteer Opportunities Available:
Volunteers may choose to volunteer in any service offered to a NWC client:
Business Assistance, Caregiver Relief, Dinner Delivery, Friendly Visiting, Minor Repairs, Office/Clerical, Reassurance Calling, Shopping/Errands, Transportation, Special Projects, Committees
Geographic Regions Served:
Sun Lakes communities and south Chandler primarily, although transportation to doctors’ offices may be needed valley-wide.
Volunteer Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Own car and ability to drive clients valley-wide in some cases
- Fingerprint clearance (paid for by NWC and done on-site at New Volunteer Orientation)
- Must be 18 years of age minimum; some special projects allow volunteers under 18 with adult supervision
- Bilingual/multilingual (including American Sign Language) a plus, but not necessary
