Volunteer Opportunities Available:

  • Board of Directors member
  • Develop or organize events for fund raising
  • Coordinate volunteer services

  • Act as an ambassador in the community

Volunteer Requirements:

Volunteers are required to provide their own transportation and must be at least 18 years old. Bilingual volunteers are sometimes needed.

Volunteer Opportunity: Coconino County Tobacco Use Prevention Program

Mission:

To reduce tobacco use in Coconino County, prevent future tobacco use, and reduce second hand smoke exposure.

Vision:

A tobacco-free Coconino County.

Volunteer Opportunities Available:

  • “Helpers” to assist people in quitting tobacco.
  • Volunteers to staff events
  • Volunteers with tobacco-related illnesses to speak to students in classrooms
  • Volunteers for special projects

Volunteer Opportunity: A New Leaf

A New Leaf is a caring community that provides quality service as a catalyst for positive change and growth in the lives of the individuals and families seeking help.

Volunteer Requirements:

Volunteers are required to provide their own transportation. Volunteers working with children are required to have a fingerprint clearance card, which the agency does not pay for. However, if a volunteers stays with A New Leaf for at least one year, they will be reimbursed the fingerprinting clearance costs. The minimum age for volunteers is 18, but minors may volunteer if supervised by a parent or other adult. Bilingual/multilingual volunteers sometimes needed, but this is not a required skill.

Volunteer Opportunity: CASS Dental Clinic

Mission:

To provide comprehensive dental care to homeless children, women, and men.

Volunteer Opportunities Available:

  • Maintain Facebook and/or Twitter accounts
  • Work in front or back office
  • Volunteer Dentists needed
  • Volunteer Hygienists needed

Geographic Region:

Facebook/Twitter volunteers can be located anywhere with internet access.  In-office volunteers serve at the clinic’s central Phoenix location.

Volunteer Requirements:

Volunteers must have their own transportation to and from the clinic. Bilingual is a plus, but not required!

Volunteer Opportunity: Maggie’s Place

Mission:

Maggie’s Place is a community that provides houses of hospitality for expectant women who wish to achieve their goals in a dignified atmosphere. Following Catholic social teaching, we recognize that we are responsible to and for one another. We challenge each other to strive toward personal growth, to welcome the gift of every person that enters our door, and to promote positive social change. In this way, we celebrate and provide for the next generation.

Volunteer Opportunities Available:

Maggie’s Place is always on the look-out for volunteers to assist with sorting donations, cleaning and organizing, performing minor home repairs, preparing a meal, babysitting, and providing house coverage (answering phones, etc.). In addition, Maggie’s Place accepts one-time and special project volunteers for activities such as hosting a baby shower, yard work, painting, etc. Please contact the house you’re interested in volunteering at for more information.
