Volunteer Opportunity: Sojourner Center


To overcome the impact of domestic violence one life at a time.


To expand domestic violence shelter and transitional housing in our community so no victim is ever forced to retrun to a violent home.

Volunteer Opportunities Available:

There are several opportunities available throughout the agency, working with the facility, staff, women and children to work toward our mission. Please contact Beth (see below) for more details.

Phoenix and Maricopa County

Volunteer Requirements:

Volunteers are required to have fingerprint clearance which they must pay for. Volunteers wishing to work in the kitchen are required to provide their own Food Handler’s Card. Volunteers must be 18 years of age, and bilingual or multilingual (including American Sign Language) abilities are always needed!

Volunteer Opportunity: Open Inn’s Alternatives Center


To empower children, youth, and families to acheive and maintain positive self-worth.

Volunteer Opportunities Available:

  • Interns
  • Shelter Volunteers
  • Outside maintenance
  • Life skills teaching

Volunteer Requirements:

Volunteers are required to have their own transportation. Volunteers must have fingerprint clearance, which the agency can pay for. Minimum age limit to volunteer inside the shelter is 21. Outside the shelter, volunteers can be all ages but youth should be supervised or able to work without supervision. Bilingual volunteers are always needed!
